They say that 'perfect' is the enemy of 'good,' They also say that a job worth doing is a job worth doing right.
So, which one is it?
I thought our custom cards looked great, and so did many of our clients and guests, but - me being me - I also thought I could improve my design. I'm an engineer at heart! While my aspirations for an engineering degree never panned out, I still find ways to treat 21 Nights Entertainment as a science experiment coyly disguised as an event planning company.
Using J. Breau's artwork from our first edition of cards as our base, I started by improving the playing card backs. The original version were asymmetrical (one big '21' in the center of the card) and had our company name on written on two opposite corners. This time around I aimed for them to be both subtly branded as well as symmetrical - exactly how real casino cards are - while also looking more like cards you'd play with in the comforts of your home.
The card faces have been changed as well, using more outside-the-box pip patterns. There was no real reason to do so, but I figured if I was changing stuff I might as well go all the way.
Also, different card back designs were incorporated for the different casino games. Poker and blackjack in the casinos use different sizes and materials for their cards and they all have different looks.
Our look, because that's just how dedicated we are.
